Killing time
So I´m officially in Peru now. My flight from New York landed here in Lima about 4 hours ago and I´ve just been finding things to do until my connecting flight to Cusco. When I booked my trip, I had considered getting a hotel room in Lima for the 7 hours I would have in between flights, but considering the time of night I got in and the early morning flight out, I figured it wasn´t worth it. Plus after reading several forum posts, it didn´t seem like a good idea to be catching a cab so late at night by myself in unfamiliar territory. The closest hotels to the airport aren´t in great areas anyway.
So now it´s almost 3 in the morning and I´ve got another hour to go before I can even check into my next flight and another 3 hours before the flight is scheduled to leave. Not sure what I´m going to do. I´ve already cleaned out all my inboxes and replied to all outstanding emails. I´ve read all the news I can take and have resorted to blogging, as you can see. I don´t think I can blog for another hour straight, so I´ve got to figure something out. I´d LOVE to take a nap somewhere, but there doesn´t seem to be any area conducive to that. There are tables and chairs in the food court area, but I doubt I can sleep there. I guess I´ll just have to rough it for the next few hours and deal with it.
Let´s see... what else. The flight was rather uneventful. I tried to sleep, but I was sitting in the aisle seat in the last row so there were 2 guys that stood in the back and conversed loudly in Spanish for a good 3 hours. Other than that, nothing really worth posting on the flight.
Alright, I think I´ve spent all the time I can online for now. I´ll post again after some exciting things have happened...
