Working from home

When I tell people I'm working from home, I immediately get that knowing wink/glance like "yeah, right. 'Working from home', sure." Hey!, some of us really do work when we're at home... sort of.

There are definitely a lot of benefits to working from home. You have more flexibility and you have the comforts of home. The downside to working from home is that you have more flexibility and have the comforts of home. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it when my manager allows me to work from home. Since my office is about 1.5 hrs commute from home, it's nice not to have to wake up at 5:30 a few days a month. But I definitely get a lot more done when I'm at the office and in the working atmosphere. It's too easy to get sucked into a lazy mode when I'm at home. Normally, my couch isn't the more comfortable thing, but when I'm at home on a work day, it somehow turns into the most plush, inviting piece of furniture I've ever encountered.

I get in a good 5-6 hours of work, but I'm definitely not fit to work from home. I need the atmosphere around me to motivate me. Same concept at the gym. I need people working out around me to push myself.

Anyway, point is, I think I need to get back to the office. I'd like to work from home so I don't have to walk around as much, but for work efficiency, it's not the best idea...
