Slow days

With my current employer entering a merger soon, there are certain days at work where I just don't feel motivated to do any work. And I know I'm not alone. The entire office is pretty much being laid off, so the corporate morale level is not so high anymore. And seeing as how I'll be booted in the next few weeks, I don't feel so bad not doing work on occasion.

So anyway, on these slow days, I've come to the realization that there's nothing to surf online. Or perhaps it's just a case that I don't know how to effectively surf. I hit the usual websites and then after that, I'm stumped and scrounging for things to occupy the rest of my work day. (like this blog for instance...) There's a finite amount of time that you can bug your friends on IM during the day or else they'll be in the unemployment line with you.

So if anyone out there has suggestions on how to kill a few hours each day, please let me know.
