Not invincible anymore
After my run on Sat, my leg muscles were sore for the following couple of days, but my knee wasn't feeling as bad as I had expected. I thought maybe the glucosamine was really working its magic or maybe it was the two ibuprofen I took afterwards or maybe the hot shower/soak. Anyway, whatever it was worked so that my knee was a bit of a nuisance, but no serious pain.
With that in mind, I went on a run last night thinking that my knee was doing much better now. It was perfect weather outside and I've been meaning to get back into shape so I jogged out to central park and started running the 4 mile loop. About 10 minutes into it, my knee started letting me know how much it was hating me. I thought I could just work through the pain, but I ended up stopping and walking every 10 minutes or so. After a bit, I decided not to aggravate the injury any further and to start making my way back home. Once I got home, I decided against taking any ibuprofen and, for the most part, I was ok. Throughout the course of the night, however, every time I shifted position, I'd experience a sharp pain in my knee. It wasn't any better this morning. Going down the stairs of my building almost sent me to tears. I think I need to go back to the doctor.
We're all getting old...

I hope you feel better. You're the reason I'm running in the first place.
