Not a fraud!
After my run yesterday, I headed up to the Sybase Classic in New Rochelle to watch my first ever LPGA tournament. I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Lincoln Mercury hospitality suite at the tournament. Can't beat free food and drinks and great seats at the 18th hole.
I've never been a big fan of watching golf. It's about as interesting to me as watching paint dry - ok, maybe a little bit more interesting than that. But after attending the tourney live, I can see the appeal. There's a lot of suspense on the putting green. You're practically holding your breath hoping the putt will sink in. As a player though, I would hate the collective audience groan as I miss a seemingly easy putt.
Although I had just missed Annika Sorenstam finish her 18 holes, I was able to watch her work on her putting in the practice area. It's amazing the patience that golfers have. I guess that sort of patience and hard work is required to be the first woman invited to play at a PGA tournament in decades. She's just good, not a fraud.
