Close friends
An article in AMNewYork this morning was about how people don't cultivate close relationships as much today as in the past. Apparently the trend has been to have less close friends, possibly due to more time spent at work, online rather than socializing in person, etc. It's a sad statistic and was a topic of conversation over the weekend.
As an adult (post college), the friendships that you make seem to be less close. Don't get me wrong, it's still possible to make good friends, but the friendships won't be the same or as bonding as those made during college. There is the occasional exception to the rule, of course, but those are few and far between. I'm so thankful to have met the people that I did in school. I wouldn't be the same person that I am today without them, and I doubt that I tell them that enough. It's tough living in a different city and state, but whenever we do get together, it can be just like old times.
So anyway, thanks for a great weekend, Vanessa, Victoria, and Anny.
