Travel weary

I spent Thanksgiving at my brother's place in Durham, NC. It had been a couple of months since I had traveled out of the city so it was good to decompress for a few days in a quiet environment. However, I'm starting to become less of a fan of traveling. I had never exactly enjoyed going through the whole process ( i.e., getting to the airport, security, flight delays, time on the plane, etc) but I didn't dread it either. Now, however, I'm finding that I almost don't want to go anywhere because of the headache associated with flying. There's almost always a delay, there's almost always something that gets my bag stopped through security, and there's almost always an uncomfortable person seated next to me on the plane (either someone bigger than a single seat, or a male who's elbow needs to invade my space). I have a lot of destinations left before I consider myself a world traveler, but after this last trip, I'm starting to consider the intangible costs of experiencing other countries (or even other states).

The one silver lining is that I no longer need to fight for overhead bin space.
