Mercy

Urine Trouble invoked the "mercy" rule tonight. We lost 16-3 in the 4th inning. I'm still not clear on the exact rules for mercy, but I know we needed to score 5 runs in the 4th. We scored 1. Oh well, at least we got some playing time in.

I also learned that my new glove isn't magical by any means. I need to work on it a bit to break-in the leather. It's pretty stiff and hard to use right now. I was doing some research online as to the best method to break-in a new glove and the results are pretty varied. Several sites suggested putting the glove in the oven to soften it, but there were just as many sites discouraging that as well. I've heard methods as far ranging as sleeping with the glove sandwiched between the mattresses to driving over the glove with a car. But all sites and sources agree that playing with the glove is really the most effective technique. Personally, I've thrown some glove conditioner on it and wedged it under my futon. And I'm going to try and get in as much time playing catch with it as I can. I need a miracle to help my game...
